Job Title: Oncology Pharmacist (Spokane, WA)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Oncology Pharmacist to join our cancer care team. The successful candidate will play a key role in providing high-quality pharmaceutical care to oncology patients. This includes ensuring the safe and effective use of medications, managing therapy regimens tailored to individual needs, and providing expert guidance to both patients and healthcare teams. The position requires clinical judgment, independent decision-making, and advanced knowledge of oncology therapeutics. The Oncology Pharmacist will report directly to the Director of Drug Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care to oncology patients, ensuring the safe and effective use of medications.

  • Review and verify medication orders, including chemotherapy regimens, ensuring correct dosages and drug interactions.

  • Counsel patients on medication therapy, including potential side effects, proper administration, and drug interactions.

  • Monitor patient responses to therapy and make recommendations to the healthcare team to optimize treatment.

  • Collaborate with oncologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized medication therapy plans.

  • Maintain and manage chemotherapy drug protocols, ensuring compliance with established standards and regulations.

  • Conduct medication therapy management for patients with complex oncological diagnoses.

  • Provide educational support and training to pharmacy staff, nurses, and other team members.

  • Stay current with new oncology medications, therapies, and industry best practices through continuous education and professional development.

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited pharmacy school.

  • Licensure: Current pharmacist licensure in the State of Washington, or the ability to obtain licensure prior to the start date.

  • Experience: A minimum of two years' experience in pharmacy practice, or completion of a PGY-1 pharmacy residency. At least one year of experience in oncology pharmacy practice is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Specialty Board Certification (BCOP or BCPS).

  • Completion of a PGY-2 oncology pharmacy residency.

  • Experience with Epic Electronic Health Records (EHR).
