Job Description
Formulate seasonings and food products, new or existing, for customers based on project specifications. Solve technical problems essential to flavor development, food applications, or delivery systems. Develop knowledge of products, seasonings, and processes. Evaluate and make recommendations for seasonings to the sales team based on customer requirements.

- Solve technical problems related to flavor development and food applications.
- Develop and recommend seasonings based on customer requirements.
- Adapt to rapidly changing priorities and multiple tasks.
- Take direction from product developers, scientists, and supervisors.
- Identify new and replacement raw materials for lab utilization.
- Replace existing products, seasonings, and flavors in the marketplace.
- Develop concepts and applications based on market trends for meat, savory, and seasoning products.
- Work accurately with calculations such as ratios, decimals, and percentages related to seasoning formulas.
- Maintain accurate and organized project records.
- Execute projects and perform other duties as required by the division.
- Communicate with customers, salespeople, and co-workers on projects.
- Previous compounding and weighing experience with proven accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Experience with lab scales, kitchen utensils, mixers, and ingredients.
- Ability to work with calculations such as ratios, decimals, and percentages.
- Demonstrated data entry and basic PC skills, including Excel and Word.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work within a team environment and independently.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
- Comfort with food product preparations including baking and frying.
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, food science, or related science preferred.
- Lab experience required.
- Fresh graduates or 1 year of experience.
- Experience in the food industry with an emphasis on meat and savory development is a plus.
- Culinary experience is a plus.
- Creative ability.
Work in an R&D lab. This role involves using lab scales, kitchen utensils, mixers, and ingredients. The ability to adapt to a fast-paced, high-volume environment is essential. The role offers growth opportunities, great teams, overtime options, and a valuable learning experience.
