Shipping/Receiving Associate

Adecco is assisting a local client in Bristol, CT in hiring Shipping/Receiving Associates to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM at a pay range of 16.00 to 18.00 per hour.
The Shipping & Receiving Associate is responsible for overseeing the flow of goods in and out of the factory. This role involves accurately processing shipments, inspecting incoming and outgoing products, and ensuring that inventory levels are maintained. The associate plays a key role in maintaining the efficiency of the supply chain by coordinating with various departments, handling logistics, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. The position is responsible for coordinating and preparing the delivery of all the Client’s products to its customers throughout the world, including fabrication of shipment skids, crates, and pallets. This individual is also responsible for tracking materials and purchased parts in the Client’s ERP system. The Shipping & Receiving Associate is a critical member of the logistics team, ensuring that the flow of goods is managed efficiently and effectively to support overall business operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS includes, but not limited to:
• Respond accurately, timely and professionally to internal customer inquiries regarding receipt of parts, material, and components.
• Prepare all shipping and receiving documents and transactions in a timely and accurate manner.
• Compare identifying information and counts, weight, or measure items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, box label, invoices, orders, or other records.
• Give immediate and professional feedback to internal customers on order shortages, changes, delays, or other important issues.
• Work pro-actively with Materials Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, QA, and Contracts Administration to coordinate incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Packages and ships all products that the Client sends to customers and vendors.
• Build skids and crates per dimensional requirements in an appropriate manner to ensure the safe transportation of the Client’s products to its destination.
• Participate in periodic physical inventory.
• Always maintain an adequate supply of shipping materials on hand.
• Maintain a neat and organized work area.
• Expected to always exhibit and demonstrate safe behaviors and to perform job in a safe manner.
QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• Minimum 3 years related experience in Shipping/Receiving environment.
• Fundamental understanding of logistics.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and organizational abilities.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Frequently lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs.
• Experience with UPS, FedEx, DHL, BOL shipments.
• Strong foundation in PC skills. Experience in Microsoft Office with focus on Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Visual ERP experience a plus.
• Ability to measure and design skids and crates to ensure safe shipment of product.
• Ability to operate a forklift, table saw, panel saw, pneumatic tools and have basic wood construction skills.
• Knowledge of International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures (ISPM 15) guidelines for regulating wood packaging material for international trade, a plus.
• Knowledge of export regulations including AES and ITAR, MIL-SPEC-Govt. packaging, a plus.
Pay Details: 16.00 to 18.00 per hour
