Job Title:Paraprofessional Location:Hamilton, VA
Employment Type:Full-Time
Hourly Pay:$20-25, dependent upon experience
Caseload Details:Discussed in Interview
Interview Details:10 minute screening call with ProCare, then 15-30 minute virtual interview with school district; offer typically given 24-48 hours after interview

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree or higher is a plus.
  • Prior experience working with individuals with special needs, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills; patience, empathy and desire to support students academic and social growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or group support to students with special needs in the classroom.
  • Assist with implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional activities under the guidance of the special education teacher.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for students.
  • Assist students with daily tasks, including personal care, communication, and mobility.
  • Collaborate with the teacher and other professionals to monitor student progress and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of student performance and behavior.
