Job DescriptionJob Description

One of the nation's largest telecommunications company is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer to ensure their network, software, systems, and infrastructure are designed and implemented to the highest security standards. 

Contract Duration: 3 Months to Start (likelihood of extension)  

Location: 100% Remote 

-Experience in technical security controls assessment and remediation

-Experience Threat identification, analysis, and threat modeling

 

Responsibilities

-Lead security, policy, and technical design and solutioning on projects throughout the project lifecycle.

-Improve process efficiency by creating and implementing creative and sustainable changes to existing security methodologies.

-Lead the identification of security requirements & provides remediation guidance for security risks.

-Assist with security test case definition and acceptance criteria and identifies info security improvements.

-Maintain visibility inside & outside of cybersecurity at an Engineering professional level.

-Strong technology experience underlying strong security control application. Experienced in technical security controls assessment and remediation.

-Interface with groups such as application support, engineering ops, finance, privacy, risk management, and other teams, as necessary.

-Familiarity with the analysis of underlying technologies that form the solution necessary for the application of threat identification, analysis, and threat model design as necessary to protect person, asset, data, and the brand.

-Work closely and collaborates with peers and non-security technologists to design and build proactive methods to enhance the security posture.

-Also, responsible for other duties or projects as assigned by the manager.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, Cybersecurity, or equivalent

• Minimum 3 years of experience in IT, including at least 1 year with primary focus in Cyber Security

• Technical security-related subject-matter expertise in at least two (2) of the following domains including at least 1 year of direct hands-on experience

 

o Cloud

o Network

o OS

o Application

o Data Storage

o Data & Compliance

o Encryption

o Infrastructure

o Security

o IOT

o Carrier Network

 

• Ability to plan, organize and prioritize tasks to complete within established time frames

• Ability to work independently without direct supervision, self-motivated, meets tight deadlines

• Ability to learn and adapt to new or evolving technologies

• Possessing technical security certifications is a strong asset

• Ability to write and edit formal-technical documentation

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
