Are you ready to power the future of transportation? We are seeking skilled individuals to join our team as Engine Maintenance Technicians. This temp-to-hire opportunity offers a competitive pay rate of 20/hour with voluntary overtime on a 2nd or 3rd shift schedule.

Location: On-site
Shift: 2nd and 3rd shift available.
Education Requirement: High School Diploma/GED
Assessment Requirements: None

About the Role

The Engine Maintenance Technician will focus on the inspection, maintenance, and repair of diesel engines used in locomotive traction motor combos. This role requires hands-on mechanical expertise, utilizing advanced tools and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical engine components. You will work on disassembling and reassembling engines, replacing malfunctioning parts, and performing detailed inspections to uphold quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines for locomotive traction motor combos.

  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble engine components to ensure optimal functionality.

  • Operate manual and automated equipment, hydraulic/pneumatic tools, forklifts, and overhead cranes.

  • Diagnose engine issues and provide detailed reports on findings.

  • Ensure compliance with all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) procedures and policies.

  • Document all processes and sign off on completed maintenance steps.

  • Continuously seek ways to improve maintenance efficiency and quality using lean methodologies.

  • Assist with training team members on engine maintenance procedures and best practices.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.

  • Minimum 1 year of experience in diesel engine maintenance or a related field.

Preferred Skills and Attributes:

  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent technical certification in mechanical engineering or diesel technology.

  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and repair techniques.

  • Experience operating fork trucks and overhead cranes.

  • Familiarity with precision measuring devices and diagnostic tools.

  • Ability to lift and handle materials up to 50 pounds.

  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Pay Details: 20.00 per hour
