We are seeking a dedicated and skilled School-Based Physical Therapist to join our team and contribute to our mission of empowering students through comprehensive physical therapy services.
Position Overview:
We are looking for a compassionate and qualified School-Based Physical Therapist to deliver high-quality physical therapy services to students with diverse needs. The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing students' physical abilities, developing and implementing individualized therapy plans, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support each student's educational and developmental goals.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine students' physical abilities, limitations, and needs. Develop individualized education plans (IEPs) and therapy goals based on assessment findings.
  • Therapeutic Intervention: Provide direct physical therapy services to students, including exercises, manual therapy, and mobility training. Design and implement strategies to enhance students' physical skills, mobility, and overall function.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, special education staff, and parents to integrate physical therapy strategies into the classroom environment and daily routines. Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for physical accommodations and modifications.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, therapy plans, and session notes. Prepare reports for IEP meetings, progress reviews, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in physical therapy and special education. Engage in ongoing professional development and training to enhance skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Masters or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Licensure: Valid Physical Therapist license in the state.
  • Experience: Experience in a school-based setting or working with children with diverse needs. Experience with IEP development and implementation is preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of physical therapy principles, techniques, and best practices. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and adapt to the needs of students.
  • Personal Attributes: Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to supporting the physical and developmental growth of students. Demonstrates a commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
