We are offering an opportunity for a Payroll Clerk for our client located in Dublin, California. The role encompasses handling payroll adjustments, aiding with off-cycle checks, and processing and balancing bi-weekly payrolls. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.
This is a HYBRID position which requires ONE day onsite per week.
Responsibilities:
• Undertake the processing and balancing of bi-weekly payrolls for all store hourly personnel.
• Conduct timely issuance of payment adjustments and terminations, in accordance with respective state mandates.
• Perform audits of payroll entries to ensure their accuracy.
• Carry out research and processing of stop payments.
• Investigate and reissue returned checks.
• Respond to all employee and business partner inquiries in a timely and effective manner.
• Assist in special projects as assigned.
• Stay updated on existing or new payroll guidelines, processes or any legislation impacting payroll.
• Solid experience in data entry and maintaining accurate payroll records.
• Familiarity with manual payroll processes and ability to manage such when required.
• Understanding of payroll tax laws and regulations in the retail industry.
• Excellent numerical ability and attention to detail for accurate payroll processing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff on payroll matters.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive payroll and employee information.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite, particularly in Excel for payroll calculations and reporting.
