Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Service Tech Welder for a 50% travel field service role across the US and occasionally Canada. This position involves assembling metal parts using various welding processes, providing technical support, and performing mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities
  • Assemble metal parts or elements using welding processes such as TIG, arc, MIG, and semi-automatic welding.
  • Read and interpret plans or templates.
  • Check the welding and ensure conformity of the part with the manufacturing plan.
  • Primarily perform service calls and commissioning at client facilities.
  • Conduct training on product lines in both classroom and practical/production environments.
  • Handle customer service and technical support calls.
  • Create and submit timely reports on work performed.
  • Identify client needs for spare parts and facilitate internally.
  • Perform mechanical work such as replacing bearings and changing motors.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, electromechanical, pneumatics, PLC, and programming issues.
  • Perform welding and polishing tasks as required.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in TIG welding.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and templates.
  • Experience with arc, MIG, and semi-automatic welding processes.
  • Mechanical skills for tasks such as replacing bearings and changing motors.
  • Electrical and electromechanical troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of PLC and programming issues.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in field service and travel roles.
  • Customer service and technical support experience.
  • Ability to create and submit detailed reports.

Work Environment

This role involves standard day shift hours with occasional on-call requirements. You will visit various client sites to perform welding and equipment repairs. The work environment includes both office and practical settings, providing a diverse and engaging experience.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $42.00
