Job DescriptionJob DescriptionMaterial Handler
Duties:
  1. Loads, unloads, and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site.
  2. Reads Bill of Material or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials needed to be prepared for shipment.
  3. Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area.
  4. Secures lifting attachments to units/ bundles and conveys load to destination or signals crane or hoisting operators to move load to destination.
  5. Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
  6. Loads trucks with industrial fork truck; stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
  7. Computer skills is preferred to cross-train in all areas of the shipping and warehouse departments.
  8. Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment.
  9. Assembles crates to contain products such as motors, vib switches, mechanical, parts orders.
  10. Operates industrial truck or overhead cranes to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
Qualifications
  1. Minimum of three years prior experience in a material handling/warehousing position.
  2. Prior experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
