Job DescriptionJob DescriptionDiesel Mechanic: Dixon, IllinoisOur customer in Dixon, Illinois is seeking a skilled diesel mechanic to join their team. The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel engines and vehicles. The diesel mechanic will be responsible for conducting routine maintenance checks, performing diagnostic tests to identify vehicle issues, and repairing or replacing engine parts as needed. Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a strong mechanical aptitude are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities of the Diesel Mechanic:
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks on diesel engines and vehicles.
  • Perform diagnostic tests to identify mechanical issues.
  • Repair or replace faulty engine parts, such as pistons, bearings, and fuel systems.
  • Inspect and test-drive vehicles to ensure proper functioning after repairs.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and tools to troubleshoot engine problems.
  • Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
  • Follow safety protocols and procedures when working with diesel engines and vehicles.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements and new technologies in diesel engine systems.
 Diesel Mechanic Requirements and Qualifications: 
  • Proven experience as a diesel mechanic or similar role required.
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components.
  • Ability to use diagnostic tools and equipment effectively.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals and diagrams.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical strength and stamina to lift heavy parts and work in various weather conditions.
  • Certification from a recognized diesel mechanic program or vocational school (preferred).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
 Pay for Diesel Mechanic: Up to $30-40/hour based on experience.  Type: 1st Shift, Full-time Schedule: Monday-Friday from 6:00am-5:00pm & Saturday from 8:00am – 12:00pm.  Diesel Mechanic Benefits:
