Job Description

The primary function of the Custodian Facilities Personnel is to keep facilities clean, safe, and in an orderly condition while responding to direction from supervisors, management, and executive staff. The role involves performing heavy cleaning duties including, but not limited to, cleaning hard and carpeted floors, walls, glass, removing rubbish, operating equipment of all sizes, and event setup. A willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques and consistent attendance are essential for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Interact with the public consistently and daily.
  • Provide a high level of customer service.
  • Vacuum, sweep, and mop flooring and stairs.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, urinals, sinks, and countertops.
  • Replace supplies in the bathrooms (toilet paper, paper towels, soap) and wipe down surfaces.
  • Empty all trash cans, replace liners, and clean receptacles as necessary.
  • Place full trash bags in a 55-gallon bucket on casters and wheel to dumpster chute for disposal.
  • Clean windowsills and windows.
  • Maintain janitor closets in a clean, safe, and operable condition.
  • Properly label, dilute, and use all chemicals.
  • Always wear proper Personal Protective Equipment.
  • Wipe down tables, rearrange chairs, and mop up any spills that may occur.
  • Assist with the setup of facilities for meetings and events as necessary.
  • Make one trip through assigned sections every 30 minutes, including checking the restrooms.
  • Be properly equipped with dustpan, broom, putty knife, cleaning rags, and spray bottle at all times.

Work Environment

Custodian Facilities Personnel for Interiors: Day and Swing shift at $20.50/hr. Overnight shift at $21.50/hr. Custodian Facilities Personnel for Exteriors: Day and Swing shift at $21.50/hr. Overnight shift at $22.50/hr. Schedule: Morning (6:00am-2:45pm), Swing Shift (2:30pm-11:15pm), Overnight (10:00pm-6:30am).
