Position Overview:As a School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), you will play a crucial role in assessing, diagnosing, and providing therapeutic services to students with speech, language, and communication challenges. Working closely with teachers, parents, and other school staff, you will develop and implement individualized treatment plans that support students speech and language development, academic success, and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication skills.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and educational goals.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in individual or group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students academic and social progress.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress reports.
- Provide consultation and training for staff and parents regarding speech and language development.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to Individualized Education Plan (IEP) development.
- Stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology.
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid state license or certification in Speech-Language Pathology (or eligibility for licensure).
- Experience working with school-age children, particularly in a school setting, is preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP development and special education laws and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.
