Are you passionate about animals and dedicated to their care? We're looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Veterinary Assistant/Technician to support our team in providing exceptional care to pets and their families.

The right candidate must be friendly, outgoing and people oriented. Must be a self-motivated team player who is attentive to detail, effective at oral and written communication, and demonstrates strong technical skills.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Patient Care & Treatment: Support fear-free patient handling, administer medications, perform injections, and assist with treatments under veterinary guidance.
  • Laboratory & Diagnostics: Conduct routine analyses (hematology, serology, etc.), collect and process samples, and take/export radiographs.
  • Surgical Assistance: Prepare and assist in surgery, maintain sterile environments, monitor anesthesia, and perform dental cleanings.
  • Pharmacy & Inventory: Fill prescriptions, maintain inventory logs, and assist with ordering supplies.
  • Emergency Procedures: Provide emergency care (e.g., bleeding control, intubation, CPR) under supervision.
  • Client Communication: Educate clients on nutrition, parasite control, vaccinations, and post-operative care.
  • Facility Maintenance: Clean and sterilize surgical, treatment, and exam areas; maintain equipment and logs.
  • Team Support: Collaborate with veterinary staff, assist with receptionist and resort duties, and perform additional tasks as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Expertise & Experience:

  • 1+ years of clinic experience as a veterinary assistant.
  • High school diploma.

Physical:

  • Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Must frequently lift 40 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs frequently.
  • Must be able to work on computer system and work multi-line telephone.
  • Must be able to handle dogs on leashes.
  • Must be able to work in an environment with exposure to disinfectant/sanitation chemicals, animal dander and excretions.
  • Must be comfortable restraining animals during medical examinations.

REPORTS TO: Practice Manager

PERKS:  PT Health insurance, PT mental Health, PT telehealth.

PAY: $18-22/hour DOE.
