Job Description

Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations to manufacture products according to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction. Utilize welding equipment to make repairs to discontinuities of submerged arc weld seams on steel pipe.

Responsibilities
  • Perform various types of weld preparation, welding, and weld finishing operations.
  • Manufacture products to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
  • Use welding equipment to repair discontinuities of submerged arc weld seams on steel pipes.
  • Ensure proper weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
  • Process inspection, certification, and documentation.
  • Maintain welding equipment.
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
  • Utilize various hand tools and equipment.
  • Utilize mobile device applications and programs.
  • Follow safety and housekeeping protocols.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor.
Essential Skills
  • Proficient in assigned welding techniques.
  • Working knowledge of fixtures and weld set-up parameters (amps, volts, etc.).
  • Experience with conventional and precision measuring instruments.
  • Ability to perform process inspection, certification, and documentation.
  • Experience in welding equipment maintenance.
  • Skill in finish grinding applications using manual and power tools.
  • Ability to utilize various hand tools and equipment.
  • Experience using mobile device applications and programs.
  • One-year experience in various forms of welding.
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test.
  • Welding (1 year) preferred.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Must be able to work in changing ambient temperatures.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Steel toe boots and sleeved shirts & welding hood required (Employee's responsibility).
  • Hard hat, safety glasses, ear plugs, protective gloves provided.

5:00am-3:30pm, Monday - Thursday

3:00pm-1:30am, Monday - Thursday

5:00am-5:30pm, Friday - Sunday
