Deduction Specialist

Our client, a nationwide provider of high-quality food products has an immediate opening for a Deduction Specialist, to join their winning team in Collingswood.

Our candidate of choice will display a positive and proactive attitude, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize. This position requires a detailed understanding of collections/deductions. This role reports and is backed up by the Accounting Manager.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Research, analyze, and resolve all customer deductions including shortages, reclamations, damages, and returns accurately and effectively.
• Submission of all unauthorized deductions within the customer’s dispute timelines.
• Post Credit/Debit adjustments for Marketing Rebates and Food show deductions.
• Provide all necessary documentation to meet department and audit standards.
• Works closely with the Sales team to maintain updated contracts.
• Continuous follow-up with customers regarding repayments of deductions.
• Alert upper management and sales teams of customer trends on deductions.
• Enter invoices into customer portals for payment.
• Scan invoices and Bill of Ladings via document imaging.
• Performs other related duties as assigned

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 3-5 years’ experience in deductions
• Must read and write English
• Advanced Math skills
• Billing/Collections experience required
• Food industry experience preferred
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
• Aspen/Canopy ERP experience preferred.
• Food Industry experience preferred.
• Understanding of Marketing agreements is preferred.
• Proficient in computer, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work well with others.
• Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
