We are seeking a passionate and skilled Onsite Special Education Teacher to join our team in Palos Heights, IL, for the 2024-2025 school year. This role involves teaching in a self-contained classroom setting, providing specialized education and support to students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students within a self-contained classroom.
  • Create and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with other educators, parents, and specialists.
  • Provide academic and behavioral support to students, employing various teaching strategies and interventions.
  • Manage classroom behavior and create a positive, structured learning environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional methods as needed to ensure educational goals are met.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of student performance, behavior, and progress.
  • municate regularly with parents and guardians to discuss student development and address any concerns.
  • Collaborate with other school staff and professionals to support students overall success and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field.
  • Valid Illinois State Teaching Certification in Special Education.
  • Proven experience teaching students with special needs in a self-contained classroom setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to create an inclusive, supportive learning environment.
  • Excellent munication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team of educators, parents, and support staff.
