TEMP-TO-HIRE ROLE

Job Description

Under minimal supervision, the Welder III performs a variety of welding processes, including electric resistance, oxyacetylene, and plasma-arc welding. Responsibilities include welding metals and alloys of different shapes and thicknesses, selecting appropriate electrodes, and ensuring proper fusion of base and filler metals. The role also involves interpreting blueprints and work orders, welding in various positions, and occasionally overseeing and checking the work of other welders.

Hours

Full-time; Hours TBD

Pay

$24.00 - $28.00 DOE

Job Duties

  • Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment, including TIG and MIG, to fuse metal segments.
  • Specialize in various welding types, such as custom fabrication, structural construction, or production welding.
  • Use electric/air tools and power tools as required.
  • Scan all jobs through the Made2Manage (M2M) system.
  • Assign work and provide guidance to other welders as needed.
  • Operate plasma machines for cutting when required.
  • Assemble subassemblies as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, electronic pallet jacks, or hoists.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five years' experience as Welder II, or a welding certification and three years welding experience in the trade and some college or industry courses in welding is desirable
  • Five years machine shop experience desirable
  • Working knowledge of welding materials and equipment
  • Forklift, pallet jack and hoist experience desirable
  • Must be able to read and use a tape measure
