We are offering a long-term contract employment opportunity for a REMOTE bilingual German/English speaking Buyer in the manufacturing industry, based in Clinton Twp, Michigan. In this role, you will be required to coordinate with vendors, discuss pricing, and facilitate negotiations. You will also be tasked with tracking progress and supporting negotiations, especially with vendors who are not fluent in English.


Responsibilities:


• Engage in regular discussions with vendors regarding pricing and other terms of purchase.

• Handle negotiations with vendors to ensure the best possible terms for the company.

• Track and monitor the progress of negotiations and other pertinent activities.

• Provide support during negotiations, particularly with German speaking vendors.

• Utilize ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and Plex Manufacturing ERP to facilitate buying processes.

• Utilize communication skills to effectively liaise with vendors and other stakeholders.

• Leverage skills in using Excel (vlookup, pivot tables, report generation using formulas) for efficient data management and reporting.

• Apply indirect purchasing techniques when necessary to support buying processes.

• Demonstrate strong customer service skills in dealing with vendors and other stakeholders.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Buyer role or similar.

• Bilingual in German and English is a must

• Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems, specifically Plex Manufacturing ERP.

• Strong understanding and experience with buying processes including indirect purchasing.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Ability to work independently and make decisions under minimal supervision.

• Proven ability to negotiate effectively and handle vendor relationships.

• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and planning skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
