Location Required: Farmville, VA.

Base pay: $18-$19/hourly

What do our Pest Control Technicians do?

The primary purpose of this role is to conduct inspections to determine the source of pest activity. Perform pest treatments and install products to create a pest-free environment. Operate and maintain service vehicles and equipment. Building customer relationships through friendly, helpful, and courteous behavior. Listen to customer needs and offer solutions to pest issues and recommend appropriate services to resolve customer concerns.  Identify and alert customers of any additional service that will provide value to the customer. 


 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Responsible for building relationships with customers, scheduling and confirming their appointments, helping with sales to current customers, and expanding our product to new customers

  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills 

  • Open to learning and becoming knowledgeable in all areas of pest control

  • Comfortable with self-directed working conditions after a training period

  • The vision to perform detail-oriented activities at distances close to the eyes or within arm’s reach.


 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Working in tight, confined spaces such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways

  • You’ll sometimes be working around mechanical parts, vehicles, electrical current, heights and scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals, and we’ll train you how to handle all of these conditions safely

  • Working around animals, insects and termites

  • Able to work both inside and outside in your local climate in company-provided weather gear

  • Lots of moving around — regularly sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, up and down stairs, ladders, scaffolding, ramps, and poles

  • You’ll need to wear personal protective equipment (PPE), like an OSHA-compliant respirator, and you’ll need to be okay with regularly working in confined spaces, narrow aisles, or passageways (anywhere the critters live)

  • Safely operate a motor vehicle and make sure it and all other equipment is kept clean.

What do you need?

  • High school diploma or GED;  related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

  • Successfully meet pre-employment background screen 

  • Possess a valid driver’s license and undergo motor vehicle driving record check 

  • Available to work Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed

  • Solid reading, writing, and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information in both internal and external settings.

  • Basic math skills — add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. You’ll need to be able to follow instructions for mixing on product labels.

  • Licenses/certificates as required by federal, state, and/or local regulations (covered by us)

  • Customer-facing experience preferred

Location Required: Farmville, VA.

Base pay: $18-$19/hourly
