Pay Rate: $35 - $40/hour
Are you a quality-driven professional with a passion for engineering excellence? Join us as a Resident Engineer and play a pivotal role in representing our company on-site with our client. This dynamic position offers the opportunity to work closely with their supplier approval and selection processes while ensuring the highest standards of quality and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
On-Site Coordination:
- Represent our company at the client’s facility.
- Oversee supplier approval and selection processes.
- Calculate staffing needs for sorting and/or rework activities.
- Initiate and monitor containment actions for product quality issues.
- Develop work instructions for sorting, rework, and equipment testing.
- Provide coaching, training, and supervision for sorting teams.
- Maintain real-time communication on product performance.
- Track and manage clean-point shipments, traceability, and product status.
Quality Management:
- Support the client’s Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCAR) processes.
- Facilitate root cause analyses and corrective actions in collaboration with internal teams.
- Align with quality engineering teams for material disposition.
- Understand failure analysis through schematics, layouts, and client specifications.
- Maintain quality performance metrics for incoming materials.
Customer Interaction:
- Establish positive relationships with the client’s quality and engineering teams to meet/exceed expectations.
- Provide frequent performance reports on products.
- Support the client’s Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) and align supplier quality metrics.
Qualifications & Competencies:
Technical Knowledge:
- Proficiency in IATF16949 automotive quality management standards.
- Experience with AIAG Core Tools: PFMEAs, PPAP, Control Plans, and flow diagrams.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610 and JEDEC standards.
- Understanding of electronic PCB assembly and modular manufacturing methods (preferably automated).
- Knowledge of statistical tools: SPC, GR&R, CpKs, and measurement system analysis.
Problem-Solving Expertise:
- Skilled in methodologies like 8D, Ishikawa diagrams, fault tree analysis, and hypothesis tables.
Technical Tools:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook).
- Working knowledge of SAP, Oracle, and Agile applications.
Skills:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills (English; Spanish is a plus).
- Team leadership with a collaborative and flexible approach.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Commitment to confidentiality and constructive feedback.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or a related field).
- Experience: 4+ years in the automotive industry or a related field.
- Demonstrated knowledge of automotive quality systems.
- Technical experience in electronics engineering applications.
- Green Belt certification in Six Sigma (preferred).
