Job Description: ProCare Therapy is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Lansing, KS. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the best possible education and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Adapt and modify general education curriculum to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to support student success.
- Assess students' skills and learning requirements.
- Track and report on students' progress, updating IEPs as necessary.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive classroom environment.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to ensure students' engagement and understanding.
- Stay current with new techniques and technologies in the field of special education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid Kansas state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Proven experience working with students with special needs.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws and regulations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
