Our client is a high-growth, publicly traded technology company seeking a SOX and Technical Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, energetic, tech-savvy, collaborative, and understand the dynamics of a fast-growing company. The manager is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Company's SOX controls. The manager is responsible for the on-going coordination with management, internal audit consultants and external auditors ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and government guidelines and laws. Additional responsibilities include assisting SEC reporting and technical accounting research.


Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Ensure Sarbanes-Oxley compliance is executed timely and manage a strategic risk based audit plan in coordination with internal audit consultants and independent auditors.

• Oversee and coordinate with independent auditors and external consultants to minimize disruption to the business during SOX testing.

• Perform business processes and ITGC walkthroughs, test of design and test of operating effectiveness.

• Manage the process to track, follow-up, and close all open SOX/internal audit deficiencies, including those identified by third parties.

• Interact regularly and advise control process owners on internal control requirements and process improvements.

• Assist with reporting at least on a quarterly basis to the Audit Committee the status of SOX/Internal audit testing results and open issues.

• Issue clear and concise SOX/internal audit reports to communicate audit results to management and/or the Audit Committee.

• Identifies root causes and provides management efficient value-added solutions and recommendations.

• Serve as subject matter expert to champion risks and internal controls considerations.

• Maintains and update key business controls documentation, including risk control matrices, flowcharts, and memos, utilizing AuditBoard.

• Support SEC reporting and technical accounting research, drafting technical memos as applicable.

• Coordinate with management on SOC report reviews.

• Special projects as requested by management and/or the Audit Committee.

• Remain knowledgeable on current activities, accounting/internal control pronouncements and audit information significant to the industry.



Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Characteristics:

• Prior management and leadership experience in public companies, specifically at a manger level.

• Highly driven, self-managed individual who has demonstrated initiative and proactively seeks solutions to problems.

• Roll-up the sleeves work ethic and digging into the details, an attitude to efficiently execute and drive audit findings to conclusion.

• Ability to write concise reports and effectively communicate findings to management.

• Strong people, project, and management skills.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in an environment where priorities and needs change quickly.

• Knowledge of financial accounting concepts, GAAP and COSO principles.

• Maintains accountability for actions (ownership of work)

• Extremely reliable with the ability to champion tasks.


Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in accounting or finance

• CPA, CISA, CIA, or equivalent certifications

• 5+ years of experience in performing internal and/or external audits, including both Sarbanes-Oxley compliance and operational audits.

• Proven experience in planning, leading, and driving the execution of an end-to-end SOX program.

• High standard of integrity, objectivity, and fairness to build and maintain stakeholders' trust and confidence.
