We are in the search for a diligent Payroll Clerk to be a part of our team located in Baltimore, Maryland. In this role, you will be assisting with payroll close activities, and managing other related administrative tasks. This role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.


Responsibilities:

• Assist in processing end of pay period reports to ensure smooth payroll operations.

• Communicate with approvers across the agency who have not approved time for their units during payroll closures.

• Execute retro payroll requests pertaining to previous pay periods.

• Stay updated with the policies that govern payroll and related topics.

• Monitor and manage payroll items submitted by employees on a daily basis.

• Assist with leave reconciliations and resolve timesheet related issues.

• Ensure accurate vacation leave payout during employee separation.

• Support employee separation activities, including preparation of relevant items for the separation packet.

• Perform other administrative duties as assigned.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Payroll Clerk or in a similar role

• Proven experience with payroll systems

• Proficiency in using software for various payroll operations

• Experience in managing a timekeeping system efficiently

• Ability to handle leave requests and other related administrative tasks

• Demonstrable skills in providing administrative assistance

• Proficient in using Microsoft Excel for payroll calculations and data management

• Experience in handling year-end payroll tasks effectively and accurately
