Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are seeking a Medical Coder to join our team in the healthcare sector, located in Spartanburg, South Carolina. In this role, you will handle the critical function of converting medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into universal medical alphanumeric codes. This is a short-term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities
• Accurately translate patient information such as diagnoses and procedures into universal medical alphanumeric codes.
• Utilize EMR (Electronic Medical Records) to manage patient data and medical history.
• Analyze and interpret medical charts and documents to identify all diagnoses, procedures, and treatments provided to patients.
• Ensure correct entry of data and maintain the confidentiality and security of patient information.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify ambiguous or conflicting patient information.
• Validate medical claims and work with insurance companies to ensure proper reimbursement.
• Regularly update skills and knowledge to keep abreast with changes in medical coding practices and guidelines.
• Handle medical billing tasks as needed, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
• Utilize knowledge of medical terminology to ensure accurate coding.• Must possess proficiency in Medical Coding
• Basic Medical Terminology knowledge is essential
• Should be adept at handling Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
• Familiarity with Medical Charts is required
• Experience with Medical Claims is desirable
• Should have good Data Entry skills
• Experience in Medical Billing is necessary
