Job Description
Work in a large industrial hardware distribution center. Perform general warehouse duties across various departments and shifts, including inventory control, shipping, receiving, order filling, and stocking. Use RF scan guns, headsets, forklifts, and other equipment.
Responsibilities- Shipping: Start times at 6AM and 8AM - Sort, scan, and check merchandise to ensure products are loaded onto the proper pallet/truck for delivery. Build pallets, load trucks, and handle larger items like ladders and pipes. Operate handheld scanners, electric power jacks, and forklifts. Frequently lift and carry 0-70lbs, occasionally over 70lbs. Involves extensive twisting, bending, squatting, and reaching.
- Receiving: Start times at 3AM and 4:50AM - Unload incoming trucks, rebuild pallets, and sort items by department. Use forklifts, pallet jacks, and handheld scanners. Constantly lift and carry 20-50lbs, occasionally over 50lbs. Involves constant bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
- Stocking: Start times at 3AM and 4:50AM - Move merchandise to different points throughout the distribution center. Stock inbound merchandise in designated locations using power equipment. Frequently lift and carry 20-50lbs, occasionally over 50lbs. Frequent bending and reaching, occasional twisting, crawling, climbing, and kneeling.
- Repack Order Fillers: 5AM start time - Pick smaller items and fill totes using a headset. Fast-paced environment with frequent bending, twisting, and climbing. Frequently lift 0-50lbs+, occasionally carry 20-50lbs.
- Full Case Order Fillers: 5AM start time - Pick heavier merchandise and larger items using power equipment. Frequently lift and carry 50-60lbs+. Constant bending, twisting, stooping, and reaching, occasional climbing.
- Inventory Control: 4:45AM start time - Audit inventory, fill out reports, and perform data entry tasks. Investigate inventory inaccuracies and prepare shipments for return. Constantly lift and carry under 20lbs, occasionally 20-50lbs. Frequent bending and squatting, occasional twisting, kneeling, crawling, and climbing.
- Prior warehouse/order picking experience
- Experience with fast-paced jobs or heavy labor
- Ability to lift and carry up to 70+ lbs
- Power equipment/forklift experience preferred
- Experience using RF scanners and order picking equipment
- Excellent data entry and computer skills
- Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel
- Good math and reading skills
- Ability to interact with other departments and management

Work EnvironmentWork in the world's largest independent hardware distributor's large warehouse with over 150 employees and multiple shifts. The environment is very clean and safety-oriented, with multiple departments, physical, fast-paced, and chaotic. Emphasis on safety and proper stretching before each shift. Employees are expected to perform extensive twisting, bending, squatting, stooping, crawling, and climbing throughout the day.
