Job Description

Responsibilities
  • Assemble subcomponents of an all-electric coffee roaster.
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing team to meet weekly production and assembly goals.
  • Build subassemblies and rework parts as needed for the production line.
  • Test and check for quality assurance.
  • Maintain roasters used by our Coffee & R&D teams.
  • Cross-train and assist the team wherever needed.
  • Follow written and verbal instructions to complete assemblies to specification.
  • Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
  • Maintain a high level of quality and safety in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Disassemble parts as needed.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
  • Two or more years of related experience in hardware, automotive, aviation, aerospace, or machinery manufacturing environments.
  • Ability to read detailed OMS, work instructions, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Experience with hand tools, electrical/electronics, crimping, connectorizing, and other related operations.
  • Working knowledge of computers and basic applications.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, accuracy, multi-tasking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Welding, rework, electronics, and grinding/cutting skills.
  • ISO Soldering Certification.
  • Confidence in proper tool identification and efficient use.
  • Gaining assembly speed.
  • Knowledge of torque specifications and proper use.
  • Discernment about tooling, rework, parts, and resources.

Work Environment

The role involves physical demands such as lifting, bending, standing, squatting, and kneeling for extended periods during an 8-hour shift. You will frequently use your hands for grasping, turning, and fine manipulation. The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs regularly, and up to 80 lbs occasionally, is required. You will be required to walk between various areas of the facility, which may be subject to temperature and humidity changes, including office, lab, and manufacturing environments.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $35.00
