Title of Position – Kitchen Manager/Head Chef

Job Description: The Kitchen Manager is responsible for enforcing food safety and sanitation standards. This includes overseeing the training of kitchen personnel in safe operation of all kitchen equipment and utensils, cleanliness practices, and safe lifting and carrying of heavy objects and handling hazardous materials. The Kitchen Manager is accountable to ensure that all food and products are consistently prepared and served according to recipes, portioning, cooking and serving standards. Other areas of expertise will include ordering all products according to specifications and receiving orders to ensure correct unit count and condition as well as proper delivery procedures. The Kitchen Manager will oversee daily prep and ensure prep lists are completed accurately and communicated clearly so that restaurant has appropriate amount of product for the day and product meets quality standards. This role will also focus on collaboration with GM, kitchen staff, management team and other La Vida departments to efficiently complete tasks, creating a positive energy and building staff morale. Qualifications:

  • The Kitchen Manager must have 5+ years of experience in varied kitchen positions including food preparation, line cook, fry cook and expediter
  • The Kitchen Manager must have at least 1 year of experience as a kitchen manager and must be ServSafe certified
  • Flexibility of schedule to assume responsibilities as needed, including nights and weekend availability is a requirement for the Kitchen Manager
  • The Kitchen Manager must have a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation
  • The Kitchen Manager must be eligible to work in the United State and agree to a background check
