The ideal candidate will provide technical guidance and diagnostic expertise to maximize production uptime. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and reliability of our production and plant operations by interpreting maintenance data and managing various maintenance projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform mold changes and complete full line setups in a timely manner.
Execute hands-on processing tasks, including mold startup, sampling, troubleshooting, cycle optimization, setups, and mold changes. Inspect and test machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions and diagnose issues for repair. Dismantle defective machines, such as blow molding machines, and install new or repaired parts (e.g., hydraulic valves) following specifications and blueprints using precision measuring instruments and hand tools.
Control scrap levels, minimize downtime, and optimize machine utilization.
Identify and report potential equipment and building problems.
Follow all product safety regulations and procedures in accordance with the SQF code.
Perform additional tasks as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Extensive knowledge of plastic conveying and blender systems, compressed air systems, and water chiller/tower systems. Ability to read maintenance manuals, schematics, drawings, parts manuals, and maintenance literature.
Strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and industry standards.
Flexibility to work overtime as needed, particularly for emergency repairs.
Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, adaptability, multitasking abilities, and effective communication with team members.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
Qualifications and Requirements:
A degree in Mechatronics Engineering is a plus but not required; a minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience is preferred, particularly in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
Preferred experience in PET Stretch Blow Molding or PET Injection Stretch Blow Molding; other Injection Molding and Blow Molding experience will be considered. Experience with mold setup or mold change processing is preferred.
Proficient in mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting, repair, and welding skills, with the ability to diagnose malfunctions in manufacturing equipment.
Prior experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting/robot programming is preferred.
Forklift certification is a plus.
