Job Description

Performs analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to aid health care providers in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of patients. Testing is performed in specialized laboratories and may include highly skilled manual techniques or automated testing using sophisticated instrumentation. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: instrument operation and maintenance, troubleshooting assays, evaluating tests for accuracy, assisting with interpreting results, and operational support activities to optimize testing. Works with multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results. May work with minimal supervision and may assist with specimen collection. Must strictly adhere to safety protocols to work with infectious specimens, chemicals and other hazards.

Responsibilities
  • Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids.
  • Operate and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot assays and evaluate tests for accuracy.
  • Assist with interpreting test results.
  • Provide operational support to optimize testing procedures.
  • Retrieve information and report results using multiple computer systems.
  • Adhere strictly to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
  • Work with minimal supervision and assist with specimen collection as needed.
Essential Skills
  • Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and assay systems.
  • Ability to produce accurate results under time constraints.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work closely with others.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science such as Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience, etc.
  • Must not be out of lab work for more than 1 year.
  • Healthcare experience is a plus.
  • Will accept Master's degree but not PhD or engineering degrees.
  • Will accept OPT candidates.
Work Environment

The work schedule includes multiple shifts:

1st Position: Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 3:30PM. No weekends.

2nd Position: Monday - Friday, 3:00PM - 11:30PM. No weekends.

3rd Position: Tuesday - Friday, 3:00PM - 11:30PM, 11:00AM - 7:30PM. The work is performed in specialized laboratories with a focus on Immunology Antibody Laboratory and ELISA testing. The environment is fast-paced with strict adherence to safety protocols.

Pay Rate: $25/hr
