What will I do?

Reporting directly to the CEO, in this highly collaborative role, our next Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) Leader will work closely with organizational leaders and employees. The focus of this role is fostering bridge-building and integrating DEIB program unification, ensuring the organization’s common understanding of this work. We are seeking a person who is proactive and incorporates an equity and belonging lens to shape decision making, services, and programs supporting the organizational DEIB capacity for engaging internally and externally

Pay Range: $45.67 – $55.28 per hour equivalent.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 20 hours/week. Hybrid schedule.

Essential Duties:

Items listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to successfully perform the essential functions of the position.

  • Work collaboratively with the leadership team on strategic approaches, including roadmap development and actionable steps for reporting on DEIB goals and initiatives.
  • Plan, develop, and coordinate DEIB events, workshops, and learning opportunities by curating DEIB organizational learning content and internal communications, focused on staff and their work with clients.
  • Work with established Sound Generations committees, employee resource groups (ERGs), related affinity or interest groups, and the leadership team, to co-create, support, and implement Sound Generations DEIB programming including plans, events, and facilitated conversations for deeper understanding and practice of DEIB.
  • Provide administrative support to ERGs leaders and related affinity and interest groups, including annual planning, process documentation, meetings coordination, and communications development for overall organizational awareness and participation.
  • Analyze data with an equity-focus for diversity of thought and historically marginalized people.
  • Encourage cross-departmental people and culture initiatives, including support to encourage ongoing crucial conversations, in collaboration with programs and administration verticals.

Experience:

  • Proven success implementing DEIB practices and programs with the ability to engage with diverse populations in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the values of DEIB including honoring and celebrating diverse characteristics and expressions of personal identity.
  • Experience managing or supporting Employee Resource Groups, Affinity Groups, or similar employee-led groups within an organization.
  • Strong analytical skills, detail oriented, organized, and adaptable approach
  • Able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in order to measure the efficiency of initiatives, identify bias in processes and deliver on DEIB efforts by collecting and reporting on associated metrics.
  • Effective communication using verbal, written, presentation, and facilitation skills.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency with O365 platform.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors' Degree in related field OR four (4) years of directly related experience.
  • Four (4) years of related DEIB experience with a preference for demonstrated experience working with older adults, neuro-diverse older adults and/or adults living with disabilities.
