Special Education Teacher - Elementary School

Location: Mesa, AZ
Position: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: Immediate

Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our dynamic elementary school team in Mesa. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with diverse learning needs and a passion for fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment. This position involves providing specialized instruction to students with IEPs (Individualized Education Programs) and collaborating with general education teachers to support student growth.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities, ensuring that their individual needs are met.
  • Develop, implement, and track progress on IEP goals.
  • Collaborate with parents, general education teachers, and staff to ensure effective educational strategies.
  • Implement behavioral interventions and provide social-emotional support.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and other team-based planning meetings.
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment where all students feel valued.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education (or related field).
  • Arizona Special Education Certification or ability to obtain one.
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students with special needs.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students.
