Details
  • Duration: 13 weeks (with potential for permanent hire)
  • Shifts Available:
    • Day Shift: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm (5x8 hours, rotating weekends)
    • Overnight Shift: 12:00 am - 8:30 am (5x8 hours, rotating weekends)
  • Weekend Hours: 7:30 am - 7:30 pm
Key Responsibilities

  • PV1 Duties:

    • Medication Verification: Engage with physicians and nursing staff to verify prescribed medications, ensuring appropriateness of drug, dosage, frequency, and route of administration.
    • Clinical Assessments: Review patient allergies, past medical history, and laboratory results to identify and resolve potential drug interactions and conflicts.
    • Patient Safety: Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outes and provide drug information to other healthcare professionals.

  • PV2 Duties:

    • Supervision: Oversee pharmacy technicians in medication preparation and dispensing processes to maintain accuracy and safety in the medication use process.
    • Inventory Control: Manage inventory and ensure the pharmacy operates efficiently and effectively.
    • Training and Mentorship: Support and mentor pharmacy students and technicians in their roles, fostering a collaborative learning environment.
Requirements

  • Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy from an accredited institution (Required)
    • PharmD preferred but not mandatory

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 1 year of hospital pharmacy experience or advanced pharmacy practice experience (APPE) in a clinical setting.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.

  • Licensure:

    • Valid Pennsylvania (PA) pharmacist license is required.
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.

  • Skills:

    • Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
    • Excellent munication skills to interact effectively with the healthcare team and patients.
    • Proficiency in pharmacy management systems and electronic health records, including EPIC, is a plus.
