Job Title: Business Analyst – Billing and Financial Support

Location: Houston, TX
Schedule: Hybrid (Majority remote with 2-3 in-office days per month)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM or 9 AM - 6 PM

Work Type: 1 year contract with possibility of extension based of business needs.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst specializing in Billing and Financial Support to join our team located in Houston, TX. This role focuses on supporting business functions in power delivery settings, with an emphasis on billing and financial processes. The successful candidate will develop and optimize processes to meet the needs of a diverse financial group, utilizing various O&M, Capital, and other accounts. You will handle billing for a specific market, respond to internal customer inquiries via a ticketing system, and manage complex tasks requiring strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with 5+ years of experience in project estimating in the electric and gas utility industry.

  • Intermediate proficiency in Excel; SQL knowledge is a plus.

  • Experience with CRM systems and Microsoft Office programs.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the energy industry preferred.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Willingness to travel within the organizations territory as required; must have a valid driver’s license.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process billing through a proprietary billing system.

  • Perform research, reconciliation, and problem-solving to resolve billing issues.

  • Respond to internal customer inquiries using a ticketing system.

  • Utilize Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate Excel skills, for data management and reporting.

  • Develop customized reports and manage data within CRM systems.

  • Adapt to changing processes and systems as needed.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members and work independently.

  • Deliver a high-quality service experience to internal stakeholders.

Additional Requirements:

  • Ability to work remotely with a dedicated home office space.

  • Completion of a Assessment as part of the hiring process.

  • Company-provided equipment (e.g., monitors, keyboard, headset) for the assignment, to be returned at the end.

  • Positive, flexible attitude with a proactive approach to work.



Pay Details: $33.00 to $34.00 per hour
