Job DescriptionJob DescriptionResidential Worker open shiftsThe Residential Worker will be responsible for providing day-to-day milieu monitoring, supervision, and care to all residential youth within a therapeutic milieu to ensure stabilization and adjustment to the youth within the program, as they transition through the program, from the point of entry until they exit the program. The youth supervision will be in accordance with each individual youth’s treatment plan. In situations which require redirecting of the youth, or in some cases, application of other de-escalation or intervention techniques, the Specialist will observe all policies, procedures, and protocols for such, and will document each incidence is required
· Provides safety to youth and staff by utilizing approved de-escalation.
· Provides milieu services and supervision in accord with the youth’s treatment plans and maintains structure within the facility.
· Responsible for the direct line of supervision of the youth to maintain the structure of the home, to ensure that the home remains intact, and the duties and responsibilities of the youth are being carried out in a safe and nurturing manner.
· Will implement as instructed the therapeutic programming for each youth.
· Assist with intake processing, assist youth with education and other special needs.
· Be present at mealtimes and ensure that the youths are well groomed to promote a positive self-image and self-esteem.
· Participate in group interaction to assist with helping the youth to focus by directing activities and the youths’ functioning as a group.
· Work one-on-one with youth when applicable to establish a positive, therapeutic relationship with youths.
· Participates in outings and clinical staffing whenever appropriate for the youth to achieve their established permanency goals.
· Responsibilities will include the completion of end of the shift reports, documentation as related to all areas of the milieu, especially the documentation relating to de-escalations, interventions, and restraints. Other documentation will include the preparation and submittal of reports relating to the youths and/or unusual incidents occurring within or outside the facility.
· Responsible for the safeguarding of the rights, privacy and confidentiality of each resident and will be familiar with policies on Client Rights and Prevention of Abuse and Neglect. Will interact with each youth to promote and provide protection of these rights.
· Consults with the site supervisor regarding specific youth problems as it relates to their service delivery, and safety.
· Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the site supervisor or their designee.
· Assumes responsibility for maintaining and enhancing job aptitude by self-directed professional reading, participation in professional affinity groups, etc.
At least two (1) years of direct experience in a child welfare residential environment, experience in a residential setting.
High School Diploma required
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $19.60 - $20.50 per hour
Expected hours: 8 – 60 per week
