Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled 2nd Shift CNC Machinist/Programmer to join our team. This role primarily involves working with CNC Vertical Mills from Monday through Friday. While overtime is required, it is mostly during the week, with rare weekend work. The successful candidate will be involved in custom part machining and programming, using Camworks software (a SolidWorks application). This is a non-production CNC shop where you will create custom parts necessary for in-house assembly and machine builds.

Responsibilities
  • Machine parts according to prints.
  • Assemble fixtures and machines.
  • Program and operate tool room machines and equipment.
  • Design and document parts that may not have prints.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop.
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
  • Promote a safe workplace.
  • Maintain honesty, integrity, and confidentiality regarding company matters.
Essential Skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Capable of high school level math and willing to learn basic trigonometry.
  • Able to read part prints.
  • Proficient in using measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators.
  • Willing to work overtime or off shifts as needed.
  • At least 5 years of CNC Machining experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of CNC Programming experience.
  • Experience with custom machining (not high-volume production).
  • Experience with CNC Mill operations.
  • Ability to create multiple custom parts for machine builds and repairs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with CAD programming software.
  • Experience with Hurco, Haas, or similar CNC machines.
  • Good job tenure within CNC Machining.
  • Willingness to work 45-55 hours a week during weekdays.

We offer a Journeyman apprentice program for those who are not currently Journeymen, as well as tuition reimbursement. Employees can earn a shift premium and are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus, typically around 12%. Overtime work is allowed but not mandatory, offering flexibility.

The work environment is a high-tech facility that is well-lit and temperature-controlled, ensuring a comfortable and safe workspace. Employees work primarily during the week with the possibility of overtime. The shop is equipped with advanced CNC machinery, and employees are expected to maintain cleanliness and organization.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $33.00/hr.
