Job Title: Special Education Teacher

Location: Conyers, Georgia

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and skilled Special Education Teacher to join our educational team in Conyers, Georgia. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to supporting students with diverse learning needs and mitted to providing an inclusive and effective educational experience. The Special Education Teacher will be responsible for designing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs), collaborating with general education staff and parents, and ensuring that each student receives the support necessary to thrive academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Conduct assessments to identify students' strengths and areas of need.
  • Modify and adapt the general education curriculum to acmodate students with special needs.
  • Employ a variety of instructional techniques and strategies to support student learning and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with general education teachers, school staff, and parents to foster an inclusive learning environment.
  • Provide direct instruction to students in both small group and one-on-one settings.
  • Track and document student progress, adjusting instructional methods as necessary.
  • Maintain detailed and confidential records of student assessments, progress reports, and IEPs.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certificate in Special Education.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and relevant state and federal regulations.
  • Strong classroom management abilities and the capacity to create a positive and effective learning environment.
  • Excellent munication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience working with a diverse range of disabilities and learning needs is preferred.

Experience:

  • Prior experience as a Special Education Teacher in a school setting is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of various disabilities and special education methodologies.
  • Ability to design and implement effective instructional strategies for students with special needs.
