Certified Occupational Therapist Asst. - School-Based - Full Time
Location: Billerica, MA
Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Certified Occupation Therapist to join our team in Billerica, MA.This position offers an excellent opportunity to work in a school setting, providing occupational therapy services to students with diverse needs and contributing to their educational success and independence.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine students' motor skills, sensory processing abilities, and functional performance in school environments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and goals based on evaluation findings and IEP (Individualized Education Program) requirements.
- Provide direct occupational therapy services, including therapeutic exercises, activities of daily living (ADL) training, sensory integration techniques, and adaptive equipment recommendations.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to support students' participation and engagement in academic and social activities.
- Monitor and document students' progress, prepare progress reports, and participate in IEP meetings to review goals and determine ongoing therapy needs.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with state regulations and school policies.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Currentlicense or eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience working with school-aged children preferred.
- Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including IDEA (Individuals with Disabilities Education Act).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a dynamic school environment.
