Shop Welder

Job DescriptionJob DescriptionResponsibilities:

• Welding and Fabrication: Assemble and weld metal components using various techniques such as MIG, TIG, and flux core welding.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding specifications to ensure accurate assembly.
• Quality Control: Inspect welds for accuracy and quality, ensuring they meet design specifications.
• Equipment Operation: Operate welding equipment and other tools such as grinders, cutters, and shapers.
• Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
• Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on welding equipment and tools.
• Documentation: Keep detailed records of work performed, including materials used and time spent on each task.

Qualifications:

• Experience: Proven experience as a welder, particularly in a night shift setting.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and flux core welding techniques.
• Attention to Detail: Ability to perform precise and accurate welds.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills to resolve issues that arise during welding.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical training is a plus.
• Certification: Welding certifications are often preferred.

Work Environment:

• Industrial Setting: Typically involves working in a manufacturing or fabrication shop.
• Night Shift: Working hours are usually during the night, which may include weekends and holidays.
• Safety Gear: Required to wear protective equipment such as gloves, helmets, and safety glasses.
