We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Chief Risk Officer (CRO) for our rapidly growing construction company. The CRO will play a critical role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks that could impact our business operations, project outcomes, and overall company reputation. This role is central to our company's success and requires a candidate who can effectively manage the complex risk landscape within the construction industry. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to our company's strategic growth and to drive the development of a robust risk management culture.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop and implement a comprehensive and effective risk management strategy across the organization.
2. Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential risks and develop mitigation plans.
3. Oversee the management of insurance programs, ensuring adequate coverage for all operational and project risks.
4. Manage change order processes to minimize risk and financial impact.
5. Provide expert guidance on AIA contracts, ensuring all contractual obligations are met and risks are appropriately managed.
6. Conduct site safety audits to identify potential risks and ensure compliance with all safety regulations.
7. Collaborate with project teams to provide risk management guidance throughout the life cycle of construction projects.
8. Develop and deliver risk management training programs to enhance the risk awareness and capabilities of staff.
9. Report regularly to the Board and senior management on the company's risk profile and risk management activities.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications in Risk Management, Finance, or Insurance will be an added advantage.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior risk management role, preferably within the construction industry.
3. Proven experience in insurance management, mitigating risk, change order management, and AIA contracts.
4. Strong knowledge of construction industry regulations, site safety protocols, and project risk management.
5. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to identify potential risks and develop effective mitigation strategies.
6. Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and drive a risk management culture across the organization.
7. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to report complex risk information to a wide range of stakeholders.
8. High degree of professionalism and integrity, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
9. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
10. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
