Location: Martin County, Florida
Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Job Type: Full-Time
Overview: Join Martin County Schools as a Speech-Language Pathologist and help make a difference in the lives of our students. The SLP will play a crucial role in providing speech and language services to students, ensuring their academic and social success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy to students in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress.
- Maintain accurate records of assessments, treatment plans, and progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expertise and recommendations.
- Conduct screenings and provide consultations as needed.
- Stay updated with best practices and advancements in speech-language pathology.
- Provide training and support to school staff on speech and language development.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Florida state license to practice Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Certification from the Florida Department of Education for Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Knowledge of IDEA and state and federal regulations governing special education.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
Required Licensure and Certifications:
- Florida State License: Must hold and maintain a valid license to practice speech-language pathology in Florida.
- ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association.
- Florida Department of Education Certification: Certification for Speech-Language Pathologists, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
