Key Responsibilities:

  • prehensive Psychological Assessments: Conduct thorough psychological evaluations to identify students' needs and provide appropriate interventions. Assessments include cognitive, academic, social, emotional, and behavioral evaluations.
  • Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure the IEP is effectively supporting the student's progress.
  • Direct Counseling and Intervention: Provide direct counseling services to students individually or in small groups to address social, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Implement evidence-based intervention strategies to support students' mental health and well-being.
  • Crisis Intervention: Respond to crisis situations promptly and provide immediate support to students, staff, and families. Develop and implement crisis intervention plans to ensure the safety and well-being of the school munity.
  • Collaboration and Consultation: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and parents to develop and implement strategies that promote student success. Offer consultation and training to educators and parents on behavior management, learning strategies, and mental health issues.
  • Multidisciplinary Team Participation: Actively participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP meetings, to discuss student progress and develop prehensive support plans. Provide professional expertise and remendations to support student development.
  • Data Collection and Analysis: Collect, analyze, and interpret data to monitor student progress and inform decision-making. Use data-driven approaches to adjust interventions and support plans as needed.
  • Program Development: Assist in the development and implementation of school-wide programs and initiatives that promote positive behavior, mental health, and overall student well-being. Advocate for and contribute to a positive school climate.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Doctoral degree in School Psychology.
  • Valid Illinois School Psychologist license.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in psychological assessment tools, special education laws, and best practices in school psychology.
  • Excellent munication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
