Job Description:
We are looking for a talented and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team at a vibrant oceanfront restaurant. This role is ideal for a creative and detail-oriented culinary professional with formal culinary training, eager to bring fresh ideas and elevate our menu offerings. As a Sous Chef, you’ll work closely with the Executive Chef, assisting in menu planning, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring high standards in food quality, presentation, and kitchen organization. This is a hands-on culinary role, focusing on innovation, quality, and precision rather than kitchen management.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in planning and executing seasonal menus, ensuring creativity and alignment with the restaurant’s concept.
• Supervise line cooks and prep staff, providing guidance, training, and feedback to maintain consistency in quality and presentation.
• Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure each dish meets established standards.
• Work with the Executive Chef on sourcing high-quality ingredients and controlling inventory to minimize waste.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant kitchen environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Ensure efficient kitchen operations during service, stepping in to support the team wherever needed.
• Contribute to recipe development, tasting sessions, and new menu items to keep the offerings fresh and enticing.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Line Cook in a high-volume or fine-dining environment.
• Strong technical cooking skills with an emphasis on precision, presentation, and flavor.
• Knowledge of food safety standards and a commitment to kitchen cleanliness and organization.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen.
• Strong team player with excellent communication and leadership skills.
