Welder And Fabricator

Candidates will be welding in either the structural department, tank department, or miscellaneous shop. Each department has a slightly different skillset that is unique to the finished product. Communication amongst other departments will be important to ensure the product is being produced efficiently and accurately.
Responsibilities- Setting up weld machines and adjusting the temperature based on the product.
- Running beads on structural steel or pressurized tanks.
- Operating overhead crane as needed.
- Performing basic weld inspections before moving forward with the next step of the process.
- Cleaning up welds as needed with a grinder.
- Welding up to 1" thick steel.
- Assisting with pressure testing tanks with water and air up to 120 PSI.
- Proficiency in MIG welding, TIG welding, and Flux core welding.
- Experience with welding on structural steel, stainless steel, and mild steel.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and layout pieces accurately.
- Skilled in operating machinery for punching holes and other fabrication tasks.
- Competence in reading angles and measurements.
- Experience with hand tools, tape measures, and grinders.
- Experience with fitting up beams and tacking together pieces on connection points.
- Knowledge of pressure testing tanks up to 120 PSI.
- Ability to set up and adjust own welding machine.
- Experience in a production environment.
- Familiarity with sheet metal and structural steel assembly.
- Prior training or schooling involving blueprint reading or layout experience.
The production floor is heated during the winters and has industrial doors open on multiple ends of the building during the summer to allow a breeze to circulate through. The shop is well-maintained and provides a very clean work environment for a structural metal shop. The company values a collaborative culture and seeks candidates who want to be part of a team. Work hours are 2nd Shift: 4:30pm - 2:00am, Mon-Friday, with a .75/hr differential on night shift.
