We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Bookkeeper in Turlock, California. The role is in the construction industry and requires an individual skilled in managing financial operations. This includes maintaining accurate financial records, processing payroll, managing accounts payable/receivable, handling purchase expenses, and billing.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain complete and accurate financial records on a daily basis.
• Oversee the processing of payroll, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.
• Handle accounts payable and receivable, and manage transactional accounting details related to purchase expenses and billing.
• Conduct regular bank and credit card reconciliations, promptly identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
• Prepare key company financial documents including profit and loss statements as well as balance sheets.
• Execute monthly close procedures and manage annual filings, such as 1099s and W2s.
• Comply with all federal, state, and local protocols, advising management on needed actions.
• Perform routine day-to-day operational functions including document filing and management.
• Regularly review financial data to ensure its accuracy and clarity.
• Utilize bookkeeping and payroll software to streamline and automate processes.
• Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field
• Proficient in account reconciliation, accounts payable (AP), and accounts receivable (AR)
• Experience with bank reconciliations and month-end close processes
• Strong data entry skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks
• Demonstrated ability to process payroll and manage billing tasks
• Must possess excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Familiarity with the construction or contractor industry is a plus.
