Job Description

A manufacturing company for premium labels is seeking a material handler who understands Job Tickets and layouts to produce the correct product of the highest quality. The role requires execution of plan schedules in an accurate and prompt manner to effectively maximize throughput. The successful candidate will work closely with all Associates to coordinate the workflow, ensuring performance metrics are met at the average or greater for this position. The Shipping Clerk will complete required documentation accurately and promptly, safely operate material moving equipment, assist in maintaining equipment for optimal operation, including adjustments and preventative maintenance, and correctly enter information into systems for job tracking and payroll. This role also involves disposing of waste materials into proper storage containers, identifying containers with required documentation, and complying with established facility safety policies and procedures and other regulations (e.g., GMP, HAACP, BRC). The candidate will be expected to interact and behave professionally, treat all associates respectfully, maintain the company code of ethics, and be responsible for daily housekeeping efforts.

Responsibilities
  • Understand and execute plan schedules accurately and promptly to maximize throughput.
  • Work closely with all Associates to coordinate workflow.
  • Meet performance metrics at average or greater for this position.
  • Complete required documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Safely operate material moving equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining equipment for optimal operation, including adjustments and preventative maintenance.
  • Correctly enter information into systems for job tracking and payroll.
  • Dispose of waste materials into proper storage containers.
  • Identify containers with required documentation.

  • Ability to read and understand a job ticket.
  • Ability to read a ruler and understand measurements.
  • Ability correctable to 20/20 vision.
  • Ability to differentiate colors.
  • Data entry proficiency.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high sense of urgency.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to stay focused and follow instructions.
  • Ability to stand and move around the press area for long periods of time.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Print shop experience helpful but not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish.
  • Ability to communicate and interact well with others, both verbally and in written form; seen as a team player.
  • Physically capable of performing job tasks, including standing, using hands to feel and touch, reaching with arms and hands, talking, and hearing.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Minimum of 1.5 years experience within manufacturing or distribution.
  • Experience in electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic applications.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing site with 150+ employees. The environment includes loud machinery, requiring the use of hair nets, beard nets, safety glasses, ear plugs, and steel-toed shoes. A back safety belt and steel-toed shoes are mandatory, and no jewelry is allowed. The working hours for the morning shift are 5AM - 1:30PM Monday-Friday, with potential overtime during weekends and 12-hour shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fullerton, California.
