Job Description

Set up, program, operate, or tend to computerized or manual woodworking machines, such as drill presses, lathes, shapers, routers, sanders, planers, or wood-nailing machines. Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications and verify dimensions, visually and using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gauges. Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure that machinery is operating properly.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, program, operate, or tend to computerized or manual woodworking machines.
  • Examine finished workpieces for smoothness, shape, angle, depth-of-cut, or conformity to specifications.
  • Verify dimensions using hands, rules, calipers, templates, or gauges.
  • Start machines, adjust controls, and make trial cuts to ensure machinery operates properly.
Essential Skills
  • At least 1 year of CNC machine operation experience.
  • At least 1 year of experience transferring programming from computer to CNC machine.
  • At least 1 year of experience with CAD Drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with tape measures, hand tools, assembly, power tools, and saw operation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Preferably someone with carpentry experience.
