- We are a manufacturer of plastic products in the blown film industry located in Hudson, WI. Picture the plastic that holds magazines in place when purchasing from the airport, or the plastic wrapped around hay bales in Western Wisconsin, or the wrap that holds new furniture or appliances together.
- We provide our plastic products to the agriculture, medical, and manufacturing industries.
- In this role, you will be responsible for helping run one of three blown film lines.
- This is a labor-intensive and fast-paced job where you will operate, load, and palletize large plastic rolls into smaller ones.
- Use shaft hoist
- Core loading, taping, and tagging
- Roll handling
- Packaging and palletizing
- Replacing trims
- Barrel switching and changing
- Quality control and identifying bad product
- Loading and maintaining scrap conveyor
- Labeling, boxing, and loading 50-pound plastic rolls
- Changing out cutting knives on the machine
- Packaging rolls after indexing them from one core to another or maintaining a machine that indexes the rolls automatically
- Packaging all products according to customer specifications and production standards
- Observing rolls for splices and changes
- Working with other packers to keep production lines running
- Ensuring correct counts and supplies according to job specifications
- Notifying lead or supervisor of production defects
- Assisting lead or supervisor in changeovers or setting up the production line
- Following quality specifications when packing product
- Maintaining a safe and clean workplace
- Sustaining productivity and quality standards
- Following all OSHA requirements and standards
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts requiring every other weekend availability
- Essential reading and writing skills
- Minimum one year of experience in an industrial environment preferred
- Experience with automated manufacturing equipment preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours during a shift

Work EnvironmentThe production laborers must be able to adjust to changing priorities and be able to multitask. The company is growing rapidly and recently purchased a new machine, leading to the need for additional hires. The work environment can get warm during the summers and is not climate controlled due to the heat required to melt resin beads. However, the workspace is generally very clean and well-maintained.
