Soliant is seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team of educators near Santa Rosa, California. This position is for a self-contained classroom with anelementary caseload consisting of 8 students with moderate to severe disabilities. The ideal candidate will havean active Special Education License for Mod/Severe and will have experience working with elementary students.


Position Overview:

  • Caseload: 8 students with moderate to severe disabilities
  • Environment: Self-contained classroom
  • Support: The teacher will be supported by a team of 4 paraprofessionals who utilize the Unique Learning System, a highly effective curriculum tailored to meet the needs of students with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
  • Grade Level: Elementary

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with special needs
  • Provide direct instruction in core subjects and functional life skills
  • Collaborate with paraprofessionals to deliver differentiated instruction and support students progress
  • Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and positive classroom environment
  • Utilize the Unique Learning System to meet the needs of students and track progress
  • Engage with families and other educators to discuss student progress and create strategies for success
  • Document and monitor student progress and behavior
  • Participate in IEP meetings, teacher meetings, and professional development opportunities


Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education Teaching Credential for California
  • Special Education, Moderate/Severe Disabilities (M/M or M/S credential) endorsement required
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field
  • Experience working with students with moderate to severe disabilities in a self-contained environment
  • Knowledge of IEP development, behavior management strategies, and individualized instruction
  • Ability to work effectively with paraprofessionals and support staff
