LHH is partnering with a client in the Ottawa, KS area to fill their EHS Specialist role.
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This role is crucial in promoting a culture of safety and environmental responsibility within the organization.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Provide EHS training and education to employees.
  • Maintain records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
  • Collaborate with management to develop safety goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and report on EHS performance metrics.
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an EHS role.
  • In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Certification in EHS (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.

Compensation: $24-28ph.
Job Type: Contract-to-Hire

Pay Details: $24.00 to $28.00 per hour
